Layne Loessin is president & chief executive officer (CEO) of Entrust Energy. He brings to this position deep and broad experience in leading all aspects including residential and commercial sales, marketing, operations, IT, financial planning & accounting, and wholesale energy supply operations. Under Layne’s leadership, Entrust Energy has grown to the “47th fastest – growing privately held companies” in the nation and top ranked Houston based company overall by Inc. Magazine.
Upon joining Entrust, Layne served as vice president of Wholesale Energy Supply for two years and was then promoted to President of the West region, leading all areas of the business operations for both Texas and California. He served two years in this role and then moved on to president & CEO of Entrust Energy, responsible for all US markets.
Prior to joining Entrust Energy, Layne had over 10 years of retail and wholesale energy industry experience. His successful career has been highlighted by working for major companies such as Enron, Sequent Energy Management, and Direct Energy. Layne began his career as a risk analyst at Enron and then at Sequent Energy Management. He has held a number of progressively senior positions at Direct Energy, ultimately leading the Risk Management team responsible for overseeing the downstream and upstream lines of business.
Layne received a B.A. in Economics from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He is married and is an avid sports fan who enjoys playing soccer and golf in his free time.
