Understanding that our communities and customers may be adversely impacted by an interruption of income or other circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the team at Entrust Energy wanted to identify a few options that may help our customers who are experiencing financial challenges due to this crisis.

We wanted to take the time to provide some details on different relief initiatives that are available to assist our customers in paying their electricity bills.  Please see below for options that are available for all those affected by the pandemic.

Payment Arrangement Options

COVID-19 Electricity Relief Program (CERP)
In order to assist those customers who, need assistance, the State of Texas created the COVID-19 Electricity Relief Program. Any of our residential customers who are unable to pay their electricity bill and are low-income or unemployed as a result of COVID-19, may be eligible for assistance via the COVID-19 Electricity Relief Program. Eligibility for the COVID-19 Relief Program is determined by SOLIX, a third-party administrator. Customers will need to apply and self-enroll for assistance by calling SOLIX at 1-866-454-8387 or by visiting https://www.txcovid19erp.org/
Note: You may experience long hold times, as SOLIX agents work hard to serve all Texans in need of assistance.

Eligibility:
Residential customers who cannot pay their electric bill due to unemployment, low-income, or have recently filed for unemployment with the Texas Workforce Commission as direct result from the effects of COVID-19, may qualify for the COVID–19 Electricity Relief Program.

To ensure you get the assistance you need, please have the following information ready when you call:

  • Name
  • Service Address
  • Last four digits of your Social Security Number
  • Your Entrust Energy account number (located on your bill)
  • Phone number

In order to be accepted into the COVID-19 Relief Program, SOLIX will require the following information:

  • Last four digits of your Social Security Numbe
  • Phone number
  • A copy of your acceptance from the Texas Workforce Commission
  • A copy of your electricity bill which is accessible 24/7 in your online account manger

Baker Ripley Utility Assistance Program
Utility Assistance program helps families and individuals in Harris County with the payment of their electricity and gas bills. If you are interested in applying for assistance, please contact Utility Assistance Hotline at 713-590-2327 or the United Way of Greater Houston’s Helpline (2-1-1) to request an application. https://www.bakerripley.org/services/utility-assistance-program

Texas Health and Human Services
You can dial: 2-1-1 or  (877) 541-7905,or visit https://www.211texas.org/guided-search/ which provides access to resources available in your area. Enter your zip code at the top. There is an “income/expenses” section where you can find “Utility Expenses.” By clicking here, you can see support for different utilities and electric service. By selecting “Electric Service Payment” you’ll be provided with Payment Assistance agencies in their area which you can contact for financial support to cover their electricity bill expenses. You will be able to set up an appointment to walk through eligibility and then the agency will engage with us from there.
